About the Event
This year, we reached more than 216,000 people at 75 shows in 12 parks across all five boroughs of New York City. From Central Park to Staten Island, our mission was to bring free live music to local communities.
Event Highlights
- Opened the season with the incredible Andra Day in Central Park.
- Partied with hip-hop legend Darryl "DMC" McDaniels in Queens.
- Danced salsa with Tito Nieves on Staten Island.
- Rocked out with Common and Pete Rock in Brooklyn.
- Celebrated 40 years of Chuck Chillout on the radio in the Bronx.
Event Information
SummerStage is a free outdoor performing arts festival that takes place in parks across New York City. The festival includes concerts, comedy, dance, and sometimes Broadway musicals. The main stage is located at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park.
Location
SummerStage is located in our flagship venue at Rumsey Playfield (E 71st St and East Drive, New York, NY 10021) in Central Park and also in additional parks that span across the five boroughs.

Performances usually run from June--October and Times vary per show location.
